Mental Health Counseling Intern
Aliyah Busgith believes in the transformative power of rewriting our internal dialogues to foster self-compassion and authenticity. She trusts in her clients’ innate ability to reshape their lives. With warmth, attunement, and empathy, Aliyah ensures that her clients feel deeply understood and valued throughout their journey of healing and development. She creates a safe and non-judgmental space for her clients to express themselves freely, while emphasizing the importance of self-reflection and introspection. By encouraging her clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and beliefs, she helps them gain deeper insights into themselves and their patterns of behavior. Embracing a psychodynamic framework, she delves into the depths of attachment theory, examining how early relationships shape our current selves. Simultaneously, she integrates multicultural theory to honor and address the diverse cultural narratives that influence identity and interpersonal dynamics. Employing evidence-based practices, she ensures a holistic treatment approach, providing nuanced support that acknowledges each client’s individual experience. Through her compassionate guidance, Aliyah aims to empower and inspire clients as they navigate their path to personal growth and well-being.
Aliyah is a mental health counseling intern at Northeast Psychological Wellness and is currently pursuing her master’s degree at New York University. She has developed her skills through a diverse range of educational experiences and volunteering at a Suicide Prevention Hotline.
