Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Clinical Supervisor
Dr. Alyssa Vincentz is a licensed clinical psychologist who believes that healing can happen with the courage to understand one’s own life story. She views therapy as a collaborative journey toward prioritizing emotional well-being, promoting healthier behaviors and routines, and fostering self-compassion. In Dr. Vincentz’s experience, this journey often includes examining the dynamic challenges that impact a client’s professional and family relationships. As each client presents with a unique set of strengths, challenges, and personality traits, Dr. Vincentz strives to individualize treatment to meet their personal goals and build upon strengths. Dr. Vincentz prioritizes providing a warm, supportive therapeutic space in which clients can experience their emotions and explore their challenges.
Dr. Vincentz specializes in treating adults with anxiety, depression, a history of traumatic experiences/PTSD, problems with anger and aggression, relationship and interpersonal problems, and substance use disorders. She utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based techniques, cognitive-processing therapy (CPT) as appropriate for trauma-related disorders, and solution-focused therapy.
Dr. Vincentz obtained her masters and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the University of Indianapolis. Dr. Vincentz completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center, with an emphasis on neuropsychological testing and treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She also has experience supervising psychology externs and pre-doctoral interns within a residential PTSD program and an outpatient polytrauma clinic. Dr. Vincentz has training in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for trauma-related disorders.
Dr. Vincentz has experience treating adults with a wide range of diagnoses and presenting problems in both inpatient and outpatient settings. At the Washington DC VA Medical Center, Dr. Vincentz provided individual and group therapy to adults with a history of traumatic brain injury; these clients often presented with related medical issues as well as depression, anxiety, or trauma-related disorders. Dr. Vincentz worked as the acute psychiatric unit psychologist at the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System where she treated adults in crisis, focusing on stabilization of mood symptoms; psychoeducation; and assistance with establishing aftercare (e.g., therapy, medication management, substance-use treatment) post-hospitalization.
