Hannah Cahill, B.A.

Mental Health Counseling Intern

Hannah Cahill

Hannah is a compassionate mental health professional with experience in education and advocacy through her work with nonprofit organizations across Westchester County. Her professional background is grounded in empowerment, psychoeducation, and social-emotional learning—principles that inform her unique clinical approach. In addition to her professional work, Hannah’s academic research has focused on topics such as emotional regulation, mindfulness, and the impact of social norms on mental health and  feelings of agency. Hannah also has experience working with persons of diverse cultures, abilities, and life stages. She is committed to providing counseling that respects the balance between social and cultural influences and each client’s unique life experiences.

Incorporating principles of Adlerian, person-centered, and cognitive therapies, Hannah strives to create a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel empowered to navigate life’s challenges. Using a strengths-based approach and evidence-based interventions, she fosters collaborative relationships that encourage clients to recognize and leverage their innate abilities to achieve personal goals. She deeply values meeting clients where they are, honoring their role as the experts of their own lives.

By integrating aspects of positive psychology, Hannah helps clients build confidence and a strong sense of agency, empowering them to make decisions aligned with their values and aspirations. With a holistic perspective, she also seeks to support clients in nurturing both their inner and outer worlds, emphasizing the profound connection between social relationships and mental health.

Currently, Hannah is a mental health counseling intern at Northeast Psychological Wellness as she completes her final year of Pace University’s CACREP-accredited Mental Health Counseling M.S. program. As she progresses through the program, Hannah continues to refine her skills and deepen her passion for walking side by side with her clients on their journeys toward growth and empowerment.
