Dr. Marko Lamela is dedicated to helping clients unlock their true potential and achieve their therapeutic goals in a supportive, compassionate environment. Dr. Lamela’s blend of empathy and humor helps make the therapeutic process both comfortable and transformative. Dr. Lamela tailors his interventions to align with the unique goals and needs of his clients.

He works closely with clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and past experiences, helping them develop strategies for growth and resilience. Each session is designed to promote self-discovery, providing a clear path to emotional well-being and personal achievement.

Dr. Lamela’s comprehensive training and expertise equip him with a deep understanding of the complexities of the human experience. His interventions are not only rooted in evidence-based practices but are also ethically and culturally sensitive, reflecting the diverse backgrounds and lived experiences of each client.

With extensive experience working with adults and adolescents, Dr. Lamela has helped individuals through major life transitions, anxiety, depression, stress, anger, grief, relationship troubles, ADHD, trauma, OCD, eating disorders, and gender identity issues. He also has expertise in helping couples improve communication, develop shared meaning, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships. 

Dr. Lamela earned his first master’s degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from William Paterson University. He then pursued additional advanced education, obtaining both master’s and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from St. John’s University. His diverse background includes experience in hospitals, private practice, community mental health centers, and primary care offices, making him a trusted professional with the skills and experience to support your mental health journey.

When he’s not helping others, you can often find him immersed in geek culture, through the worlds of Dungeons & Dragons, exploring new campaigns with friends, or various video games. He also loves cooking—whether it’s trying out new recipes or perfecting old favorites. Staying active is important to him, so you’ll likely see him at the gym or enjoying an outdoor workout (he’s hiked to the top of Mt. Fuji to see the sunrise), or enjoying live music at a concert.
